Took some doing, but...

I did the inking for the Halloween Witch drawing today. Managed to get all the way through it relatively painlessly, then dragged my wrist through the wet ink while finishing up the last effing line. Had to completely start over. Joy!

Anyway, I just finished the second attempt and I’m really happy with how it turned out. It’s not completely finished yet, but I can’t do the spot blacks without a brush, and I’ve not been able to run out to the art supply store yet.

Anyway, I’m really happy with it. It’s one of the few drawings I finish that looks somewhat professional.

Take a look and tell me what you think.

Nice. I also like the Christmas plate in the picture :)

Now... RESIST THE URGE TO DORK WITH IT TO THE POINT WHERE YOU HATE YOUR FINAL PRODUCT.

This christmas plate is actually the top of an old tin. I used it to draw the moon in the background. I actually felt really low-tech for using it...until I saw a video where a very famous star wars artist used a dinner plate to outline the death star.

Also, bad luck became good luck with this one. When I can get to the art supply store and get a new brush, the dress is going to be black which needs a rendering technique I'm not used to...and thanks to me effing up the first version right at the end, I have a copy on Bristol to practice on.

In other words, I have a 'free' one I can 'dork' with all I like.
