"Plans to vaccinate young girls against the sexually-transmitted virus that causes cervical cancer have been blocked in several US states by conservative groups, who say that doing so would encourage promiscuity."
I honestly am too freaking angry to write much about this, except to say that it appears cancer is more acceptable to these people than teen sex.
Absolute fucking morons.

I'm not to keen on the government mandating this vaccine. It's not because I'm some hyper-conservative who believes that vaccines promote promiscuity, but I do believe in individual rights... which include the right to refuse treatment... the right to make my own decisions, whether they be for me or for my family. If women can expect the government to "keep your hands off of my body," then I can reasonably have the same expectation.
Obviousky, everyone has the right to refuse treatment.
On the other hand, no group of people should have the power to block people from getting what amounts to a cancer vaccine.
Make it available, and if a parent believes it will promote promiscuity in their daughter, leave it up to them.
I for one think it sounds like good idea. How in the hell can being vaccinated against cancer ever be a bad thing?????
I guess it would be a bad thing if that cancer was like... good cancer... that gave you super powers.
But that doesn't exist, does it?
Anyway, yea, wtf is up with this story?
Also, nice use of the ironic "1" at the end of your post title.
