eHarmony

I was just sitting here on the couch when an eHarmony ad came on the TV.

"When you run your own business, you just don't have time to go out and find someone." Said the slightly weird looking lady. "eHarmony does all the work for you."

Is it just me, or is that a completely ridiculous statement?

If you don't have enough free time to find a partner, you certainly don't have enough time for an actual relationship. Secondly, if you think just finding someone is way too much work...well you get the idea.

So, from what I can tell, eHarmony is perfectly tailored to find relationships for people who don't have the time for a relationship or the commitment to make a relationship work.

They might as well have a site that's set up to sell tarantulas to arachnophobes.

eHarmony is a joke, as are the other dating sites.
"we guarantee we will find your match". BULL HICKY!

i spent about an hour filling out their survey, only to receive a response of "we're sorry, but at this time we don't have a match for you".............talk about MWA wha whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Well, since I met Toby initially through an online dating site, I have to say it CAN work.....however, I can see your point.

In my case, it wasn't that I didn't have time to meet anyone, I just hate going to bars, and doing the whole get to know you business. In my opinion, it affords you the opportunity to see if you are a persoinality match BEFORE you meet.

That said, I used Yahoo Personals and they never made any promises to me. I also made a few friends via the esite. People I would probably never have otherwise known.

My impression of the ad was that the actual looking for / meeting new people was the waster the woman was looking to avoid.

The woman in the commercial seems pretty driven - I'm sure her new man will be happy to quit his job to work with her to make their small business a success.

I'm biased since I met my wife online - it's likely a couple would never meet without an introduction from a dating site.

I think you're missing the point.

I'm not saying dating sites don't work, or even that eHarmony doesn't work.

I'm talking about this specific woman who claims she doesn't have the free time to find anyone.

If you don't have the time to find someone you don' have the time for a relationship.

I wondered what others would have to say. I kind of knew what RayRay would say though.

never trust a dating site that won't give you a pic when they tell you about a person... sure it is what is inside that counts but it isn't everything!

eharmony, for that lady on the ad and blind people.

( met current hubby thru yahoo personals, might meet next one there.. nice place!)
